iii'mmmm aliiiiiiive!
hello world!! like you all ever read my blog anyway, but hey, to each his own or whatever. so i finished the seasonal season of working two jobs and i gotta tell ya, it weren't pretty. i was averaging about 4.5 hours of sleep a night. i think starbucks owes me some thanks for personally supporting them over these last few months too. a few lattes, maybe?
but yeah, enough of that. so my real job at the y is still rockin. i'm getting good feedback from the boss (and her boss) so that's cool. unfortunately, our clerk is out with a herniated disk, and our it guy just got promoted to another location, plus we were supposed to hire a part-timer last week, but didn't get any good applications... so after mike the it guy's 2 weeks, it's me and the boss and one part-timer to keep things running. of course, none of us know the it stuff, so that will be kinda rough. and i thought the insanity was over... but yeah, i'm having fun, and there is generally coffee in the breakroom, and i get to see shaggy for lunch almost every day, which is more than i've consistently seen him in a few years, so i'm liking that.
we went up to wa to a wedding a couple of weeks ago. shaggy's baby brother got married. it was pretty nice, but kinda weird cuz of all the family ins'n'outs (one brother showed up with another brother's ex for a date, two siblings' dates were married- to other people! another brother couldn't attend because his partner's dad is dying and they have to spend every second they can with him, oh yeah, except for a few days so they could go to hawaii, and the parents didn't go because of "health reasons" so yeah. quite an event. we were betting on a brawl, what with there being several mean drunks and a keg there, but everyone behaved better than we thought they would. of course, the brother that borrowed shaggy's shirt got locked out of his house the next day and so couldn't return it to us before we had to fly back down here, but if losing a shirt is the worst that happened, i guess we're okay. oh no, wait, we also got to watch a homeless dude take a dump on the side of a main road. that was classy.
and this weekend we went to a hindu 40th anniverssary party. it was huge and ridiculously expensive (held at a temecula winery) and there was a belly dancer who dragged shaggy up to the dance floor first thing, and he surprised everyone with a VERY hammed-up belly-not-quite dance that was just about the funniest thing i have ever seen. i have photos that i will post if the internet ever stays connected for more than 1.83 minutes at a time. but yes, very fun.
and the kitties are all about to get advantaged tonight (shhhh, don't tell shadow or he'll pee).
so that's today in the life (or part of today) i got a new get fuzzy book, and i'm hurrying to get to alias (i whipped out season one again the other night, and dang, it's still good!) so yeah. enough of this. ciao.
