krayzykat musings

random. often cat-focused. sometimes a little nutty sort of online diary with ventings, thoughts on life, food-related tangents, etc. probably not interesting to people who don't know me...

and then some

okay, i do "love" blogger.com for letting me put my ramblings out there, on the condition that the ramblings do end up actually "out there". i have three posts over the last week that seem to have disappeared. apparantly one appeared for a while, since it has a comment, but they're not showing up on the blog... funky stuff. i emailed blogger help - let's see what that does.
i still maintain that migraines are the worst thing ever. insomnia, indigestion, allergies, and a toothache on top of bad news is still up there though. at least there are kitties (one of whom is trying to lie on top of the keyboard - good ol' hobbes!). then life's not so bad. people ask why i have so many kitties, and i tell them that most cats only want to be around humans a certain percentage of their time. now i have enough cats that the percentages work out to where someone's always glad to have me around. hooray for fur. and for all those other allergic-type folk like me, i just found a kind of cool item in a hallmark store - they're little curled up sleeping cats with motors inside that make them breathe and purr, and they're made of synthetic fur, so it looks and sounds (and feels) like there's a real kitten snoozing there on the shelf (or about two dozen of them).
i got offered a job on the spot today, by the manager of the hollywood video near my work. he said i could practically pick my hours, and won't i at least think about it? i don't know whether to be excited or cry, since i thought i had escaped hollywood three years ago. i wouldn't mind some spending money (or chiropractor money) but the pay is so little, and there are so many customers... sigh.
and i haven't really done anything interesting, but i can't sleep, and the computer is working, and i finished the books i was reading (i'm now re-reading neil gaiman's anansi boys - a fabulous book, but this is the sixth reading, and i only got it in march...) i'm debating a hot chocolate or chai tea or something, but they'd probably keep me even more awake.
i don't mean to be whiny, really...

...

migraines are the worst things in the world. really. not insomnia, not bleeding ulcers, not dentists or being rejected, migraines.
and although excedrin and wellpatch have created wonderful products to reduce the suffering (both in frequent use, let me tell you) they don't fix the problem. there is a chiropractor who tells me she can fix it, but i don't have $1500, and should i really trust a chiropractor? then people say don't drink caffeine, don't sleep too much or too little, don't whatever they want to say, but it all comes down to, when my head hurts, i'll do anything i can to make it stop. and then let's have a little talk about tweedle-beetles. anyone read "fox in socks"?
sorry, and i'm proud to admit that yes, i have lost my mind.
and yes, i have no bananas.

i'm baaaaaack!!!

okay, so it's only been about five bajillion years since i blogged...
i have excuses, really:
1)our buddy ethan was in town, hence us being a tad busy entertaining
2)we moved suddenly, meaning yes i'm now only 5 miles from work
3)the computer somehow broke in the move
4)it took forever for us to find the broken computer under the piles of boxes and whatnot
5)once i found the computer and got it fixed, i had to catch up on everything i'd missed already (i.e. deleting 5,487 emails, hate-mailing some evil bastards who set a leg jaw trap and maimed a bobcat, and so forth)
6)i haven't totally thought this excuse out yet, but it has something to do with beavers.

it was jane's idea...
